SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUELS: AN INDUSTRIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR SPAIN FOR A JUST ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION

The sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) represent the key technology for the sector’s ecological transition. In addition to decarbonizing flights, in terms of life cycle, they generate wealth and quality employment. A recent report carried out for Iberia by PWC shows that the commitment to the development of the SAF industry in Spain could represent a great opportunity for that country, not only because it would contribute to the decarbonization of a strategic sector (ecological transition), but also because it would generate around 56 billion euros of contribution to its GDP, and about 270 thousand quality jobs, providing social and territorial cohesion in Spain (just transition).The sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) represent the key technology for the sector’s ecological transition.
