HUMAN MOBILITY, BETWEEN ANOMIE AND PREJUDICE

Javier de Lucas

The standard concepts with which the main categories of human mobility are represented are not based on scientific analysis, but are the result of a social construction, determined by a dominant interest. The objective is to impose a model of global governance of migration, which is functional to the law of profit maximization, typical of the logic of the agents of a global market who strive to impose their rules, not to submit to any rules. An instrumental (managerial) logic that reinforces inequality in the internal and international order. Thus, a concept of immigrant (even, refugee) is built based on anomie, prejudice and inequality before the law. A status of subordination that responds to a nineteenth-century conception (colonial) of the categories of citizen and foreigner and that resorts to the alibi of public order and the supposed rationality of the equilibrium of the labor market.
