Director of Agirre Lehendakaria Center for Social and Political Studies (University of the Basque Country).

 

 

 

 

He is Director of the Agirre Lehendakaria Center for Social and Political Studies, a collaborative initiative between the University of the Basque Country and Columbia University (AC4) to share internationally the experience of socio-economic transformation lived by Basque society in recent decades.

He is also Senior Fellow of the Michael Young Foundation, founding partner of the Koop Social Innovation Laboratory (SILK) and Scientific Director of the Work4Progress initiative promoted by the La Caixa Foundation. Previously, he was an advisor to the Presidency of the Basque Government.

Gorka is part of "The COTEC 100", the network of experts selected by the COTEC Foundation for Innovation; he has been a visiting professor at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Montreal (CIRM-McGill University), Senior Fellow at the United States Institute of Peace and Senior Associate at the ICRC (Columbia University). He began his professional career at Elkarri, the Movement for Dialogue and Agreement in the Basque Country.

He is the author of the documentaries "Pluja Seca" (TV3 2011) and "Parlem les Lluls" (TV3 2012) and co-author of numerous articles and publications on social innovation
